The Faculty of Public Health, University of Jember (FKM UNEJ) has a vision “to become a public health higher education institution that produces qualified graduates, professionals based on agro-coastal community with environmental insight”. To achieve this vision, it is necessary to internalize the values of the vision and mission of the faculty into the activities of “Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi”.
FKM UNEJ provides a means to develop science, a means to publish scientific works of lecturers and students, both research and community service, especially related to the vision of Agrocostal Community. In addition, it is also a means to exchange ideas, and an opportunity to expand the network of cooperation between universities, especially in the field of Public Health. One of the activities to create this space is through the International Conference which is a forum for lecturers, students and the general public as a means of disseminating science and technology based on agro-coastal community.
Issues related to resilience and health security are still a problem faced by almost all countries in Southeast Asia. These problems include post-covid-19 pandemic resilience, nutrition problems, infectious diseases, reproductive health, environmental health and other problems. Susceptibility to degenerative diseases and old diseases that reappear and new diseases that previously did not appear is also still an obstacle that is still being faced.
Global health is still a concern around the world including in the Southeast Asian region. The approach to solving public health problems can be done in many ways. It can be through regulation, through economics or through socio-cultural characteristics and also topography, for example, the blood of agriculture, plantations and beaches. This activity is expected to obtain research outputs that can contribute and can be implemented to solve global public health problems, especially in communities in Southeast Asia. This activity also collaborates with student scientific activities with the same purpose.
